Casas do Monte

Implanted on a 6.25-hectare plot in the Alto Douro, this tourism project proposes architecture with simple lines and a strategic layout, inspired by the Roman organization of the cardo and decumano. It is distributed into three clusters of private villas, privileging the view and connection with the landscape. The volumetry recalls the vernacular language, with mass buildings that open up punctually to the exterior. The materiality — marked by stone, earthy tones, and natural textures — reinforces integration with the site. The building supporting the swimming pool functions as a central point for socializing and well-being, while the pedestrian paths and indigenous landscaping complete a sensory and immersive experience.
